Project 1: Loading crane with the ASRM application

For one of its customers located in Mouscron (Belgium), Ceratec has developed a crane capable of transporting loads up to 6T on trolleys measuring 2mx6m.

Metal sheets of different sizes and thicknesses are transported on these trolleys to the different cutting and processing locations.

The carts can be stored in the warehouse or sent via shuttles to the production hall. The finished product can be stored in the warehouse or sent to the truck loading tables on departure to the customer.

The technology used is the Siemens ASRM application ("Application for Storage and Retrieval Machine"). This application makes it possible to control the motors in positioning via the technological objects of Siemens but also to keep a constant eye on the safety of the machine. Thanks to this application and the safety encoders, speed, position and direction are continuously checked in a completely safe manner. Motor brake tests are carried out regularly and the load is also checked in a safe manner.

Project 2: Cement loading arm

For one of its customers located in Belgium, Ceratec automated a cement loading arm and increased its operational safety.

The technology used is that of the Siemens safe kinematics application. Safe kinematics enables safe and controlled movement of a multi-dimensional arm in space by synchronizing and optimizing the different axes.

Several work zones and no-go zones for the loading point have been determined and are continuously checked in a safe manner so that the arm does not collide with other moving objects in the area (gangway - truck). In addition, Safe Kinematics allows - depending on the selection of work areas and prohibited areas - safe work for the operators of the loading point.

We wish good luck to the team who submitted these projects in this competition!
