Ibstock Parkhouse - Drying & Firing

Ibstock Parkhouse is one of the major soft mud plants in the UK. Ceratec was asked to replace 10 old chamber dryers by 7 new and more efficient dryers. The dryers had to be replaced for 2 reasons: the poor condition of the old dryer decks due to corrosion and the increase of the factory output to 65 Million BS.

The dryers were rebuilt incorporating a highly insulated new Stalton deck, complete new dryer equipment and controls. By using this modern drying technology, drying time has successfully been reduced from 49 h to 32 h.

With this project, the Ibstock team increases their dryer output with lower energy costs.
